*A brief consumer WARNING:  Please be careful as to who you allow in your home to clean around your children, your pets, and the items in your home.  Many people claim to be able to clean and use products that are not recommended for certain surfaces and that damage them.  Those people often aren’t insured, and will disappear when a problem arises.  Also beware of paying any individual on an hourly basis.  If they do not report that income for tax purposes, and are caught, they can label you as their employer, and you can be held responsible for back taxes as though you were just that, their employer.  If you dictate the hours that they are to work, if you supply the products and equipment for the job, and if you pay them hourly, you are setting yourself up for potential problems.  To make matters worse, if they get hurt, they could even go after you for worker’s compensation.  Deal with professionals when taking care of your home, and you will avoid risk while having a much better experience and better results in your home.*
